Scheduling & Online Booking Built for Your Bays
Scheduling & Online Booking is part of SalesThumb. Most tint shops schedule with phone calls, texts, and a whiteboard. SalesThumb's calendar is built around how a shop actually works — your bays, your installers, and the fact that a full PPF job ties up a bay far longer than a quick ceramic tint. Customers book themselves online while you're working, and automatic reminders go out before every appointment. SalesThumb is pre-launch; this is the scheduling system the founding shop runs day to day.
The problem: scheduling without a purpose-built tool
Generic scheduling apps treat every appointment the same. They don't know that bay 1 is booked solid with a PPF job while bay 2 has an opening for a quick ceramic tint, and they don't account for which installer is free or how long a service actually takes.
When customers call, you're digging through a shared calendar, typing their name in by hand, and hoping someone reads the group text. When they don't show, you've lost the slot and the customer never got a reminder. Or they turn up at the wrong time and your team has to scramble.
- No clear view of bay or installer availability — double-bookings happen because capacity isn't in front of you
- Customers have to call or text instead of booking themselves — so bookings are tied to your phone hours
- Missed appointments leave bays empty because there's no deposit and no reminder
- Staff coordinate by hand who's on which bay at which time
- Rescheduling means hunting through messages and re-confirming
How SalesThumb's calendar works
SalesThumb's scheduling is built around your shop's real resources. You add your installers and bays once in settings, and set how long each service takes, your booking hours, how far ahead customers can book, and how much lead time you need. The calendar and the booking widget then offer slots based on those rules — not just empty time blocks.
Customers book online from your booking page. They pick the service, choose a date and time inside your hours, and enter their vehicle details. If you require a deposit, SalesThumb can collect a fixed amount or a percentage at booking and credit it toward the final invoice. The booking lands on your calendar, and your team sees it on every screen.
Before each appointment, SalesThumb sends automatic reminders by text or email — the day before and again about an hour before — so the customer doesn't forget and your bay doesn't sit empty.
- Day, week, and month calendar views — see the shop's schedule at a glance
- An online booking page customers use to book themselves, 24/7, inside the hours you set
- Service type, vehicle info, and an optional deposit captured at booking, so the job is staged before the car arrives
- Automatic SMS and email reminders the day before and about an hour before each appointment
- Bay- and installer-aware availability — slots reflect who and what is actually free
- Shared across your team — a change on one screen shows up for everyone
What's included
Scheduling is part of the core SalesThumb product. You set up your installers, bays, and service times once, turn on your booking page, and the calendar runs in the app. There's no separate scheduling app to bolt on and no second vendor to pay — booking, the calendar, deposits, and invoicing all live in one system.
When a booked slot opens up, a built-in waitlist helps you fill it instead of losing the day's revenue. And because bookings connect to the rest of SalesThumb, a confirmed appointment carries straight into the customer record, the deposit, and the invoice.
- Configurable booking page — set your hours, lead time, how far ahead customers can book, and a same-day cutoff
- Optional deposit at booking — a fixed amount or a percentage, credited toward the final invoice
- Waitlist for full days — when an appointment cancels, surface waitlisted and recent customers to fill the open slot
- No-show tracking — appointments can be marked as a no-show so it's part of the customer's history
- Connected to invoicing — a booked job flows into the customer record and the invoice
- Per-shop timezone so the schedule reflects your location's local time
- Mobile-friendly booking — customers book from their phone and see the confirmation right away
Frequently asked questions
Can customers book online if I'm closed?
Yes. Your booking page stays available around the clock, but customers can only pick times inside the hours you set — for example 9 AM to 5 PM, closed Sundays. You can also set a lead-time window and a same-day cutoff, so you control how far in advance and how close to an appointment people can book. You configure it once in settings.
Does SalesThumb help cut no-shows?
Yes. You can require a deposit at booking — a fixed amount or a percentage — which is credited toward the final invoice, so the slot has a real commitment behind it. SalesThumb also sends automatic text and email reminders the day before and about an hour before each appointment, with no extra work from your front desk. If a customer still doesn't show, you can mark the appointment as a no-show so it's part of their history.
Can I schedule by bay and installer?
Yes. You add your installers and bays in settings, and appointments are assigned to a specific resource. The calendar reflects who and what is actually available, so you can see real capacity instead of treating every open time block as bookable.
